This marker is on the grounds of the courthouse in Rhinelander, a city with some of the most confusing streets you’ll ever find. I’m not sure why someone thought this law deserved a historical marker.
Of course, now there’s a hodag nearby. We were told by a local police officer that these are relocated from time to time.
I couldn’t get a good shot of the courthouse itself because they had dug up the whole street in front of it.
Full disclosure: We may have missed another marker in Hodag Park. We looked but not in the right place. Even the officer didn’t know there was one in the area.
