This is the oldest of 5 historical markers located in the city of Oconto. The church itself is well-maintained and looks rather attractive.
The marker, as usual, explains the significance of the building. October 31, 1886, was a Monday. I think the date was chosen for its significance as All Hallows Eve; that is, Halloween.
The marker has the same text on the other side, but that side is much more weather-worn.
We visited this and the other four markers (and Copper Culture State Park) all within 2 hours one day.
